FAQ

Q: How do I sign up for the Baruch Archery Club?

There is no sign up for the club.  You could just show up to one of our practices.  You could sign up to our weekly email reminders which just updates our members on the practice times and events.  Email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or give us your email at practice or at one of our events if you wish to be added.

Q:  When and where does the Baruch Archery Club meet?

We meet on Tuesday from 12am - 3pm, Saturdays from 6pm - 9:30pm & Sundays from 4pm - 7pm. The Lawrence and Eris Field Building at 17 Lexington Avenue (23rd street building), at the 6th floor, gym.

Q:  Why are your hours so late?  Why do you meet only on the weekends?

We don't have a much of a choice in hours.  The gym is used by Baruch HS and is also rented out to outside parties.  We have been and will continue to try to get better hours.  We understand that it is difficult for members to attend practice so late in the night and that many students work on the weekends and are therefore unable to attend.

Q:  Is experience or equipment necessary for joining this club?

No, experience or equipment is not necessary.  The club will provide coaching, equipment, and other supplies (arm guard, finger tabs, quivers, etc).  And no, shooting once or twice in the boys or girls scout is not really any experience.

Q:  Are there any fees for this club?

No, there are no fees of any sort for the club.  However, if you wish to participate in competitions (not the club's in-house competitions), they normally charge a fee which we will try to cover a little but as our funds are limited, you will probably have to pay for most of it.

Q:  If I join the club, am I expected to attend every practice or meeting?

No, just like any other club, attendance is completely voluntarily.  Come and leave whenever you wish.  You do not need to attend the whole 3 hours nor do you have to come in every week.  However, if you have an assigned bow and don't show up for at least 3 weeks, we could reassign that bow.

Q:  Where else could I shoot in New York City?

Pro Line and Queens Archery (both located in Queens) are two ranges where one could practice.  There is also a range in Staten Island that requires yearly membership (See coach Grzegorz for more info).  There is also a field in Brooklyn but you are required to bring your own equipment.  Pro Line charges $13 for entire day of shooting (check their hours first) plus $7 for equipment borrow.  Queens Archery is $18 an hour but if you get the $50 yearly membership, the price is $13 for the entire day (again, you should check their hours first) plus $5 for equipment borrow.
