· To qualify as a coach, you must have a shooting average of 400+, be an active member of the club for at least two years, have participated in an NAA sponsored tournament and be familiar with the rules and regulations of the sport.

· Archers are to wear the proper gear before shooting.  This includes wearing an arm guard, finger sling, finger tab, quiver (with arrows) and, if necessary, a chest protector.

· It is suggested that all archers wear comfortable, fitted clothing and appropriate footwear.

· All archers should know the following commands:

· LINE UP: proceed to the yellow line

· HOLD: you are to immediately stop shooting, unload your bow, and wait for further directions

· CLEAR: you are to properly set down your bow and retrieve your arrows from the mat

· Load your bow on the yellow line, never off.

· Archers are to shoot when standing on the yellow line.

· All arrows must be aimed down the gym and only at the targets.

· Novice archers are permitted to shoot three (3) arrows each end.

· Be careful when stepping off the shooting line as not to bump a fellow shooter at full draw.

· To avoid damaging arrows when removing them, place one hand flat on the mat and with the other pull out the arrow at the lowest end of the shaft.

· To avoid injuring another archer while pulling your arrows, be sure there is no one standing behind you.

· Use a stringer to string and unstring your bow.

· Do not run with a loaded bow.

· Horseplay is NOT allowed.

· If you are through practicing, take down your equipment.

· If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

· If an archer fails to follow these rule or any directives given by a coach, he or she will be asked to leave.

· Additional rules for First timers:

· Do NOT change the sight without supervision from an officer or coach

· Do NOT change distances without supervision from an officer or coach
